I'm Kyle Secker, an independent Data Protection Officer appointed under UK GDPR. My background sits specifically at the intersection of software engineering and data protection law — which means I spend most of my time translating between two teams that don't always speak the same language: the people who write the privacy policy, and the people who write the code that has to live up to it.
My work spans privacy compliance across multiple jurisdictions, vendor contract and Data Processing Agreement review, transfer impact assessments for cross-border data flows, and advising internal teams — marketing, HR, product, engineering — on what their data protection obligations actually mean in practice.
